The Morgan's Point Resort Economic Development Corporation, (EDC), a public instrumentality and a non-profit corporation, was organized exclusively for the purpose of benefiting the City by promoting, assisting and enhancing the economic development activities. The EDC has a governing board that is appointed by the Mayor and the City Council, whom is accountable for the financial matters responsible to the City Council. The EDC's financials are reported withing the City's financials.
Responsibilities
The Economic Development Corporation is responsible for:
Providing services for business placement, retention, expansion, and recruitment
Providing programs dedicated to making the community and workforce better
Creating a marketing strategy for the City
Hosting and sponsoring a variety of workshops and seminars to help businesses grow
